-=> IBM PC Technical Reference Character Set (00-FF) Quick Reference <=-
By Michael Walden - Created: 2025-04-26 - Updated: 2025-04-26

The following table is a recreation of the two "Character Set (00-7F) Quick Reference" and "Character Set (80-
FF) Quick Reference" pages in the "IBM PC (5150) Technical Reference (6361453)" manual condensed into a single
table. This table is basically a historical reference that mainly provides decimal and hexadecimal character
codes for use with IBM PC and compatible computers. The character codes will mostly not be of use on modern
PCs unless you are running an IBM PC emulator program, but each character in the table can be copy and pasted
into any place that understands Unicode characters (such as a word processor, an email client, a text field in
a web browser, etc.). Give it a try. One other thing that this table addresses is nostalgia for a better
time in the past when you saw all of these varied characters and you were fascinated by them... The good old
days. (All of the characters below were produced using my IBM PC Code Page 437 to Unicode Mapping Table's
Unicode code points to provide the most accurate IBM PC character set table possible.)
(You can directly bookmark the [table] below.)
